JustPay! Living Wages Campaign

= LIVING WAGE CAMPAIGN

Successes

Companies that have publicly committed to paying their workers a Living Wage can be found here.

Barclays has confirmed that living wages are paid to subcontracted support staff (cleaning, catering, mailroom) across its UK network. Barclays is a longstanding supporter of the London Living Wage and the rate paid in the capital is currently £8.60 per hour. Elsewhere in the UK Barclays requires that the hourly rate is at least £7.20.

RSA confirmed that all directly employed staff throughout the UK are now paid at least the Living Wage (£8.30 per hour in London and £7.20 in the rest of the UK). RSA has also confirmed that by the end of March 2012 all on-site contractors at RSA offices in the UK will be paid at least the Living Wage.

We are thrilled to announce that David Nish, CEO of Standard Life PLC, has stated that they are set to have negotiations with their contractors to allow them to become a Living Wage Employer across all UK operations. Mr Nish made the announcement after a question from FairPensions at the company's AGM. The first of many successes we hope!

Standard Chartered

In response to a FairPensions query, the company was happy to confirm that all UK staff and on-site contractors receive in excess of the Living Wage. This is clearly excellent news and adds Standard Chartered to the growing list of FTSE100 companies that apply Living Wage standards

We're expecting many more companies to pay a Living Wage, so do keep checking back for more successes.
